COALINGA-HURON USD Shade Structure & Playground Improvements

Dynamic Electrical Contracting & Controls, Inc. has recently commenced electrical construction for the Coalinga–Huron Unified School District Shade Structures and Playground Improvements Project, a multi-campus facility upgrade designed to enhance outdoor learning environments, playground areas, and student gathering spaces across the district. The project includes site improvements at five school campuses — Bishop, Cheney, Huron, Dawson, and Sunset Elementary Schools — located in Coalinga and Huron, California, where new shade structures, playground areas, and supporting infrastructure are being developed to improve campus usability and student safety.

Dynamic Electrical’s scope includes installation of new outdoor lighting systems, lighting poles, and lighting control systems to provide safe and efficient illumination for playground and outdoor activity areas. Work involves construction of augered concrete pole foundations with reinforcing steel and anchor bolts, installation of lighting poles and fixtures, and underground electrical distribution systems including conduits, wiring, terminations, grounding systems, and Christy boxes for electrical access throughout the sites. Additional electrical work includes panel modifications, installation of new breakers and updated panel schedules, and electrical connections supporting rooftop mechanical equipment where required. The project also involves underground trenching, conduit installation, sand encasement, and coordination with site construction across multiple active school campuses.

The project is currently in progress and, once completed, will provide improved outdoor recreational environments with modern lighting and electrical infrastructure to support safer and more functional playground areas throughout the district.
